That Thing About Cancer and My Dad

That Thing About Cancer and My Dad

In this episode we discuss a young woman’s journey with her dad who had cancer. We are going to answer What do you do when someone in your family has been diagnosed with Cancer? How do you manage losing someone like that? What happens when you or your family become caretakers? We are going to answer these questions and more when we talk to someone who unfortunately has lost her father to this devastating disease. My guest today is Amanda Steel … she’s a multi-genre author, whose love of writing and supporting other writers led to her creating her own literary magazine in the United Kingdom, and after her journey with losing her father she wrote an anthology and has become an advocate for several cancer charities. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States and around the world. The only health condition that kills more people is heart disease and unfortunately COVID19 is catching up to that. In 2018, an estimated 9.5 million people died of cancer worldwide. That’s about 26,000 people each day and 1 out of every 6 deaths. About 600,000 cancer deaths happen in the U.S. each year and about 80,000 in Canada.  Find more info at Beforeyougopodcast.com  Amanda Steele’s Website: www.amandasteelwriter.com
