Author, Game designer
I am a neurodivergent philosopher and the designer of the Empyrean Deck, a tool designed to help people explore, experience, and talk about spirituality. The Empyrean deck incorporates a divination system, a cooperative game, and a method for personality exploration. More generally, the system is the vehicle for building a community for peer support among those of us who generally do not fit in well in traditional religious communities. I am a former Zen Buddhist monk with a doctorate in World Religions, and training in pastoral counseling as well as spiritual direction. I have worked in universities, churches, corporations, and hospice care. I have attempted to incorporate all this experience and education into the Deck. My blog, Spirituality on the Spectrum, explores Buddhist, Taoist, and Jungian insights into what it means to be human. I am also well qualified to discuss psychedelic integration, meditation and other spiritual practices, and the philosophy of neurodiversity.
