Author/Retired USAF Combat Special Missions Aviator

Anthony Dyer was born under a full moon in 1982 in Sylva, North Carolina, in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 2000 and later set his sights on Special Operations Aviation. He became a Special Missions Aviator, flying aboard the AC-130H Spectre Gunship and HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter during high-risk missions around the globe. Over more than a decade, he earned multiple honors, including the Jolly Green Rescue Mission of the Year in 2018 and recognition by Secretary of the Air Force Barbara Barrett in 2020. After retiring from active duty, Anthony turned to writing as both therapy and tribute. His debut memoir, Moon Child, offers a raw account of war, trauma, addiction, and recovery. He now lives in New Mexico, where he writes, speaks, and advocates for mental health while enjoying time with his wife and daughter.
